A big tour bus can move a hundred people through a landscape in a single afternoon. It is efficient. It is also, we think, the wrong way to see the places worth seeing.

When we cap our expeditions at a small handful of travelers, everything changes. The guide knows your name. The local cafe has room for all of us. The quiet overlook stays quiet. And there is space for the unplanned detour that so often becomes the best memory of the trip.

Small groups also let us reach places larger tours simply cannot. Narrow trails, family-run guesthouses, roads that were never meant for a coach — these are where the real texture of a place lives.
